Abandoned pavement; 1997

An abandoned section of former Route 66 in northern New Mexico. When I was a young kid just out of high school in 1947 (making my very first Route 66 photographs), I traveled directly over this very piece of road in a '39 Ford which towed a 33 foot touring trailer. Amazing!
