Whiting Brothers 1; 1999

Whiting Brothers was an important truckstop chain along Route 66 in the west. All that remain today are weathering signs, boarded up stations and burned out motels. (Rumor has it that one station may still be operating.) This particular sign near San Fidel defies the sun, wind and blowing sand as it proudly reminds travelers of its past.
