Washtub mailbox; 1980

Washtub mailbox; 1980

Here is an innovative Chelsea, Oklahoma mailbox made from an old washing machine. To you youngsters who don't recognize it, the part where the mailbox now stands had two rubber rollers and a crank. The clothing was washed in the circular tub, then hand-cranked through the rollers to remove most of the water before being hung to dry.
