Abandoned farm; 1980

An abandoned farmstead rests along Route 66 near Yokum on a cold, gray late-November day in 1980. As we photographers say, everything "clicked" here. The barren, doorless home, leafless trees, bladeless windmill and rusty grass all contributed to the despair of the moment.
